Brother, nothing you wrote is History 101, and I teach these things. I'm not sure what you mean by Rome "taking over" the church. As I wrote earlier, I'm not aware of Romans "burning Bibles," for example. But it's not important. My only suggestion is that you may be more persuasive with the simple claim that Christians should follow Jesus' message of love. Leave the historical arguments out: they are not persuasive.
