Emily Wilson, a professor at Penn, published a translation of the Odyssey in 2018 that is now the most commonly used. I've taught it several times. She published a translation of the Iliad in 2023, and I confess I haven't read it. But her work is outstanding. There are notes and glossaries of names, etc., but you wouldn't need more, I suspect.
