I have loved my career, Frederick. Not to direct you to another piece, but I may be about to lose it: my university has eliminated my department. But that has nothing to do with students or teaching, just administration decisions.

I didn't know quite how much I would enjoy teaching. I knew that I loved learning and that's what led me to graduate school and an advanced degree. It was really only then that I realized how much I enjoyed teaching and how much I wanted to become better at it. It has been a rewarding career.

And sometimes the students tell you what you meant to them.
