Mid-50° and no wetsuit?! I can't imagine. The pool at the Y feels a little chilly to me at 76°!

That said, there's nothing like open water swims. I'm an East Coast guy and not swimming in the ocean, so no seals, no sharks, just geese, snakes, fish, that sort of wildlife. That's enough for me.
