My condolences for that very difficult situation, AT. I hate it for you. My ex-wife and I were able to work things out fairly amicably, but there were stressful points and anger along the way. You sound hurt but not embittered, which I would expect from nearly anyone in that situation. I hope the pain gradually subsides, too.
