No, your colleague was wrong, Georgia. We may all be woven from restlessness--you're probably echoing Augustine there--but there is no equivalent for a girl on the cusp of maturity entering it without her father, her rock. To suggest otherwise seems almost dismissive. Comfort? Love? Fulfillment? Sure, we all want those. But rescue is different, and you've expressed it beautifully.
