Not to question the influence of menopause, Kasey, but I'll note that I have much more difficulty with names now as I approach 60 than I did even 10 years ago. I used to hang onto students' names from semester to semester, and that's largely gone.
Again, I'm not countering the possibility that HRT could reverse some of the brain-fog, just observing that mental acuity in general seems to dull as we age--and there's no replacement therapy for that (yet).
