One question I keep asking myself, Fabienne, is whether my best could have been better, or whether it can be better in the future. I hope that it can; I'd like to have more patience and compassion than I do.

But yes, especially when our reserves are low, we need to protect our boundaries. I don't think I knew how true that is. In other areas--endurance sports, learning--I want to test my boundaries, perhaps push their limits. That's what leads to growth, I thought. But that was not the case here.
