Serious question, Dr. Bidoski: is it possible to be neither poker-faced guy or Landmine Guy, but still be rubbed wrong by things?

For example, say the woman has a particular diet in that there are things she will not eat and things she feels she must eat, but what she must eat and when she eats those required foods varies, so planning meals is generally out, and the man can cook for her, but only in a narrow window of options. He's not angry about this and wants her to feel her best, but he recognizes that mealtimes are usually fraught and rarely pleasant; and he regrets that. He doesn't regard this as something to be "fixed" and he's willing to accept it. But it is a thing. What kind of work does that require?

Asking for a friend.
