This is a lovely account of your "summer joy practice," Yael. May it continue into an "autumn joy practice," too! These kinds of practices--and the perspectives that launch them--seem so important to general health and happiness.
It's not the same, but yesterday I realized how I could configure my teaching days for the upcoming semester in a way that allowed more joy. It's all conceptual at this point (classes begin Aug. 21), but the realization made me breathe easier and look forward to Aug. 21 a little more.
