This is so acutely observed and described, Conni. I've never been in the situation you describe, but yet somehow it makes perfect sense thanks to your eloquence.

It plays with the idea that "we contain multitudes" and pairs it with "we adapt to our circumstances."

I can only hope to find someone who tames my rough edges (and dresses me in Armani, no less!).
