Would I be comfortable delegating the rant, Boots? Why no, I would not: I'd like to keep that rant for myself, thank you very much! Trust me, I feel it. I just didn't want this piece to express it.
I haven't expressed it anywhere, to be honest. In some earlier comments I say a few harder things, but I and my colleagues have opted not to rebut or argue with the decision, but to petition to continue as a minor if not a major and to be reassigned to other departmental homes. I know that there were legitimate forces pushing our chancellor to this decision. She's not malicious or dumb, far from either.
And I also feel very grateful to have had such a great job for so long. That's not represented in this piece, either, but it's true. For all these reasons, ranting and condemning just seem less than appropriate, less than helpful.
Thanks so much for reading and responding, my friend. I appreciate you.
