Yes, they think they just fell out of the coconut tree, Jane! Wonderfully apt in the moment.

It would be difficult to build robots and learn Latin, that is, to double-major in Engineering and Classics, given the requirements of Engineering, but we've always had students who combined Classics with Biology or Political Science or Art or another language. That was always my hope, not to create more graduate students in Classics, but to have doctors and accountants and architects who had studied Classics. We had some, but not enough.

Even as an 18-year-old, I was with the old books, ignoring the sexy robots. Maybe there's a story there...
