Yes to Emily Wilson's translation! It's excellent. So were Fagles' and Fitzgerald's before hers, but hers has a straightforwardness and clarity that I love.

Two small observations: Agamemnon doesn't return to a "muted welcome from his people" but to murder from his wife and her lover Aegisthus; and Odysseus narrates only books 9-12, when he reveals himself to the Phaeacians at their feast. The rest is told by the narrator.
