Yikes, Salsam! And as an active athlete, you probably paid attention to a request for a tennis partner more than others would have. That's not just sophisticated: that's downright malevolent.

As John Oliver and others have noted, the worst part is that this deception depends on some really good things about us: our desire to connect with other people, to help others, to make friends, etc. To guard against it, we have to resist those great qualities, at least a little or initially. That's what I really hate.
